The Opportunity:We are seeking a Litigation Attorney with substantial experience in personal injury/employment matters to join our growing litigation team. This role is ideal for a confident, strategic litigator who thrives in the courtroom, commands depositions, and can lead a team of associates and staff through all stages of litigation. You'll be entrusted with high-value cases and given the tools, support, and autonomy to fight for meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take lead on personal injury litigation matters, including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and major orthopedic claims
- Conduct and defend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions
- Develop litigation strategies tailored to each client and case
- Supervise and mentor junior associates, paralegals, and support staff
- Handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, discovery motions, and managing e-discovery issues
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide guidance throughout the legal process
- Manage case deadlines and ensure procedural compliance
Qualifications:
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
- Minimum 10 years of experience in personal injury litigation (trial experience is required)
- Demonstrated ability to handle depositions, mediations, and trial preparation independently
- Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
- Proven leadership and team management experience preferred
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and case management skills
- Must be local to or willing to relocate to the Greater Los Angeles area
