Description:
We are seeking a Litigation Attorney to join our Real Estate Litigation group.The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience with real estate disputes and litigation; experience with business litigation is a plus. This position will focus on real estate disputes and litigation, but will also support the firm's other litigation practices.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the State Bar of California
- 6+ years of litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in real estate litigation
- Strong working knowledge of the California code of civil procedure, evidence code, and relevant areas of the civil code and business & professions code
- Ability to manage cases from inception to resolution with general supervision
- Ability to independently identify issues and anticipate/recommend strategy in litigation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and prepare legal documents
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail
- Prepare for and engage in settlement negotiations, hearings, and trials to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
Office Location:
This position can be based in any of our offices: Silicon Valley (downtown San Jose), Tri-Valley (Pleasanton), or Peninsula (San Mateo). Travel between locations may be necessary.
Compensation:
Compensation packages for senior attorneys are negotiated depending on their expected production. Pay scale is defined to include the range of base pay (estimated to be $200,000 – $215,000/yr) and may include incentive compensation ranging from 10% -20% of fees paid.
