Description:

The Law Offices of Dunham, Ramirez & Van has an immediate need for a full-time on-site Litigation Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate should have some experience doing trials and 3 or more years of experience in civil litigation (specifically PI), including law and motion work. Our attorneys have support from a separate team of pre-litigation case managers, as well as assistance from dedicated paralegals and legal assistants in the litigation department.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing with CA State Bar
3+ years of PI litigation experience
Ability to manage litigation cases and take them to trial if needed
ABOTA membership is a plus
Superior writing and oral advocacy skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Adobe Acrobat, including advanced formatting and PDF editing
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, meet-and confers on discovery issues, motions and memoranda of law
Write mediation briefs and perform legal research
Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports and affidavits
Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances on behalf of plaintiffs
Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel for settlements
Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process
Trial preparation and participation, and ability to develop trial strategy
Will be handling no more than 10-15 cases at a time
