Description:

We are seeking a full-time, New York barred attorney to join our growing insurance defense practice firm. This is a remote position handling insurance fraud investigation and litigation of fraud for insurance clients throughout New York State.

The successful candidate will have strong legal research and writing skills, sound judgment, excellent communication abilities and a demonstrated interest in litigation. They will collaborate closely with our attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and the courts to manage litigation matters and conduct comprehensive insurance investigations across the country.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned matters from initial case assessment and investigation through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, pleadings, motions, memoranda and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, conferences, mediations, and, where applicable conduct Examinations Under Oath (EUOs).
  • Analyze legal and factual issues and develop effective case strategies.
  • Assist with case preparation, including factual investigation, document review, and organization of case files.
  • Make court appearances throughout New York, primarily in New York City area, when required.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff in a remote environment.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable court rules, professional obligations, deadlines, and client reporting requirements.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active New York State Bar admission in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience; insurance fraud defense litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload and deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a fully remote work environment.
  • Strong professional judgment, organizational and communication skills.
