Description:

Link Logistics Real Estate (“Link”) is a leading operator of warehouses and business parks, specializing in last-mile logistics real estate. Established by Blackstone in 2019, the company connects consumption, technology, and the supply chain across its portfolio, which spans half a billion square feet. We leverage our scale, proprietary data and insights, and foundational focus on sustainability to drive success for our customers' businesses and deliver value for our stakeholders. We put our people, customers, and communities first and find ways to make a conscious, positive impact where we live and work. Every day, we work to reinvent and lead our industry forward by thinking bigger and challenging the status quo.

The Litigation Attorney role anchors Link's California litigation capability in-house to improve speed, consistency, and cost control across Asset Management, Property Management, and Collections. The in-house counsel will carry an active statewide docket of approximately 28–40 matters, handling all phases directly while using outside counsel sparingly, and will centralize NDA drafting and negotiation previously routed to vendors. Embedding this expertise on site strengthens day-to-day decision support for market teams, standardizes enforcement practices, and reduces external legal spend without sacrificing trial-ready execution.

Join a leading industrial real estate platform as in-house Litigation Attorney. You'll own a high-volume California litigation docket, focusing on unlawful detainer (commercial) and lease-dispute matters. This is a hands-on courtroom role—draft, file, argue, try, and close cases directly, with outside counsel used sparingly. You'll also draft/negotiate NDAs and maintain playbooks and templates.

Responsibilities:
  • End-to-end case ownership (CA Superior & Limited Civil / UD Departments)
  • Evaluate claims/defenses; recommend strategy and settlement posture
  • Draft and file pleadings (complaints, demurrers/MTS, MSJs, ex-parte, OSCs, trial briefs, post-judgment writs)
  • Make statewide court appearances (law & motion, MSCs, bench trials); coordinate lockouts with sheriffs as needed
  • Manage discovery (RFDs, RFAs, depositions), evidence, and witness preparation (PMK, property/asset managers)
  • Serve as attorney of record for company/LLC on all filings; maintain calendars and e-filings
  • Handle lease dispute & related litigation (breach/holdover, declaratory relief, injunctive relief, guaranty enforcement, damages collection)
  • Coordinate with property management, asset management, and transactions teams
  • Draft/negotiate mutual & one-way NDAs with tenants, vendors, counterparties; improve playbooks & clause libraries
  • Interface with risk/insurance: early matter assessment, tenders to carriers, track liability exposure and outcomes
  • Maintain case metrics (cycle times, win rates, settlement bands); report matters in CMS; train business teams on UD/lease-enforcement basics

Qualifications:
  • JD and active, good-standing California Bar (required)
  • 3–6 years commercial litigation experience with heavy California UD and lease-enforcement focus; first or strong second-chair UD trials
  • Comfortable with high-tempo UD timelines, regional filing quirks, and e-filing across counties; willing to travel statewide
  • Excellent writing, pragmatic judgment, and calm courtroom presence; low-ego, high-ownership mindset
  • Industrial/logistics real estate experience (NNN leases, CAM, TI/repair, access & remedies)
  • Tenant bankruptcy touchpoints (stays, 365, admin rent)
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery tools and legal ops systems
  • Second language useful for site visits
  • Paralegal/ops support for service, filings, and calendaring, standardized forms & checklists
  • CLE, State Bar dues, professional memberships covered; MCLE & litigation skills training budget
