Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including but not limited to family law, immigration law, and personal injury law. This role requires exceptional negotiation skills, a thorough understanding of litigation processes, and the ability to conduct comprehensive legal research. The Litigation Attorney will represent clients in court and other legal proceedings while ensuring that their rights are protected.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in commercial, construction, real estate, and general civil litigation matters (trials, hearings, arbitrations, mediations).
- Conduct deep legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other standard tools.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Negotiate favorable settlements for clients across business, real estate, and construction disputes.
- Provide legal advice and counsel in adjacent areas aligned with the firm's service offerings (e.g., condominium law, probate litigation, real estate transactional matters).
- Review, advise on, and litigate real estate transactional and contract disputes.
- Manage case files, track deadlines, and maintain organized workflows.
- Prepare for court appearances: coordinate exhibits, witnesses, depositions, and trial strategy.
- Stay current on changes in business, real property, construction, and litigation laws within Florida and applicable jurisdictions.
- Work collaboratively with the firm's attorneys and support staff to deliver high-quality client service.
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Florida Bar (in good standing).
- Proven litigation experience especially in business, construction, or real estate disputes.
- Exposure or interest in complementary areas such as probate litigation, condominium law, family law, etc., is a plus (given the firm's breadth of services).
- Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and research skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to handle a caseload independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Previous experience in a law firm setting is preferred.
