RumbergerKirk is seeking a motivated litigation associate with 2–5 years of civil litigation defense experience to join our Birmingham, Alabama office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled attorney who enjoys working on meaningful, complex matters, interacting directly with clients, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team.What You'll Do:
- Handle cases from inception through trial.
- Take and defend depositions, attend hearings and mediations, and argue motions.
- Interview witnesses and experts and negotiate with opposing counsel.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, memoranda, settlement agreements, and trial-related documents.
- Work directly with clients and collaborate with experienced attorneys on litigation strategy and case development.
What We're Looking For:
- 2–5 years of civil litigation experience.
- Experience in general liability, casualty, premises liability, product liability, or complex litigation preferred.
- Demonstrated case management experience and the ability to take on increasing responsibility.
- Experience with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and a strong work ethic.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Alabama.
