The Heyman Law Firm, located in downtown Baltimore, seeks a highly motivated attorney to join the firm's busy litigation and transactional practice. The lawyers at the Heyman Law Firm engage in various types of business litigation, focusing on real estate, intra-corporate and fiduciary disputes.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in advising and representing small-to-midsize businesses and individuals in all phases of real estate, fiduciary, and business litigation.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
- Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions and case management conferences.
- Negotiate with other relevant parties and/or opposing counsel.
- Communicate closely with clients to provide legal analysis, status reports and advice.
- Bonuses paid for origination.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years litigation experience
- Experience with litigation and ability to handle matters independently
- Top academic credentials (top 1/3 of class preferred)
- Must be admitted to practice in the State of Maryland, or willing to take the next Maryland Bar Exam if admitted in another state.
- Excellent interpersonal and client relation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Strong time management and organization skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced office
