Description:
Hurrell-LLP is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. This position offers exciting opportunity to gain substantial trial experience and handle a wide range of complex civil defense matters, including police liability, employment law, and general liability.As part of our collaborative practice group, you will play a key role in managing cases from inception through trial or settlement. Ideal candidates will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to develop their litigation and courtroom advocacy skills in a faced-paced, trial focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload involving defense litigation in State and Federal courts.
- Conduct legal research, draft motions and pleadings, and appear in court hearings.
- Take and defend depositions; attend mediations.
- Work closed with partners and senior attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings. Independently handle litigation tasks with limited supervision.
Qualifications:
- Active admission to the State Bar of California
- 4+ years of civil litigation experience
- Experience handling day-to-day civil litigation matters, including:
- Legal research
- Drafting and arguing motions
- Representing clients in State and Federal court
- Conducting depositions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
