Role Description:
This is a full-time Litigation Attorney position with flexibility for some remote work. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years' experience. A background in Construction litigation is preferred but not required. Associates are expected to have collected, billable hours of 1,350 hours a year, a family-friendly metric that encourages work/life harmony. Our goal is to promote a balance between work and family for associates and partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage case load;
  • Manage cases from inception up to trial;
  • Prepare motions, oppositions to motions, and reply briefs, and attend hearings;
  • Prepare for and take depositions;
  • Prepare discovery requests, discovery responses, and subpoenas;
  • Prepare agreements, such as settlement agreements and joint defense agreements;
  • Research case law and statutes;
  • Review and analyze documents produced by opposing counsel and documents provided by clients;
  • Interact with clients and opposing counsel in a courteous and thoughtful manner; and
  • Enter billable time promptly and accurately.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in litigation.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to effectively argue motions and participate in court hearings.
  • Experience in taking and defending depositions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Florida.
  • Experience in construction law, corporate and real estate is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
