A Full-Service Law Firm is seeking to hire a Litigation Associate with 6-10 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation to work in our Pittsburgh office. The position requires significant client contact and the ability to excel when working independently. The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling complex litigation matters, managing cases independently, and working closely with clients and partners. This role requires strong advocacy, leadership, and project management skills, as well as the ability to mentor junior associates.Description:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage litigation matters from inception through trial and/or settlement
- Draft and argue motions, briefs, pleadings, and other court filings
- Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses and experts for testimony
- Conduct and oversee discovery, including e-discovery, document review, and production
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trial proceedings
- Develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and clients
- Manage client relationships and provide practical, solutions-oriented advice
- Train and mentor junior associates and litigation support staff
- Ensure compliance with deadlines, budgets, and case management requirements
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials preferred
- Admitted to practice and in good standing in Pennsylvania; experience in federal court proceedings
- 6–10+ years of litigation experience at a law firm or comparable setting
- Demonstrated experience handling complex litigation independently
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
- Proven leadership, client management, and mentoring abilities
- This position is full-time.
