Description:
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a mid-level litigation associate to join our nationally recognized Private Wealth and Fiduciary Litigation Team. This position is based in our Silicon Valley office, or in San Francisco, with preference for Silicon Valley.

Our team includes some of the most respected and successful trial attorneys in the nation, with expertise in disputes involving private wealth. We handle complex cases relating to trusts, decedents' estates, conservatorships, and adult guardianships. Our attorneys represent clients in matters involving breach of fiduciary duty, fiduciary misconduct and fraud, misfeasance and malfeasance in estate administration, investment mismanagement, financial elder abuse, conservatorship matters, and will and trust contests. Our litigators have achieved major victories in jurisdictions across the U.S. and internationally, regularly winning multi-million-dollar cases. Members of our Private Wealth and Fiduciary Litigation team also have authored and influenced some of the most important legislation affecting the rights of beneficiaries and rules governing fiduciaries.

Associates on our team are given a high level of responsibility early in their careers and have opportunities to gain trial experience, work on fascinating legal issues, and have direct and frequent client contact on cases that profoundly affect families and organizations. This is a great opportunity to develop business and client relationships in a specialized, niche practice.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of litigation experience
  • Trusts and estates litigation experience, or exposure to related issues, is preferred but not required
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills

Candidates must be admitted to the California bar. Resume, law school transcript, and a writing sample are required to apply.

The salary range for this position is $260,000 - 365,000.
