A Public Finance, Litigation, Construction Law Firm's practice areas include Litigation, Public Policy and Political Law, Construction & Procurement, Municipal Law and Public Finance, School Law, and Real Estate.

We are seeking a litigation associate who is committed to excellent and ethical lawyering and will contribute to the diversity and success of our firm, as well as to the legal profession and our greater community. Responsibilities:
This job requires the lawyer to assume substantial responsibility for the preparation of pleadings and briefs in trial courts, administrative proceedings, and appellate courts that reflect the highest caliber of legal scholarship and written advocacy. The successful candidate also will be involved in all aspects of discovery, and will have opportunities for stand-up courtroom experience and direct client contact as their practice progresses. The successful candidate also will assist in researching issues and providing general counseling services to a variety of public, non-profit, and private clients. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience (or interest) in property acquisition for public projects, including through the exercise of eminent domain/condemnation.

Requirements:
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent writing, research, and communication skills
  • Membership in the Washington State Bar Association (or eligibility for membership)
  • Law journal participation and/or judicial clerkship preferred
  • One to five years of general litigation experience preferred (including clerkship)
