Nutter McClennen & Fish is seeking an associate to join our expanding (growing) Litigation group. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in legal research, propound and answer written discovery, manage and oversee document productions, prepare deposition outlines, conduct depositions, prepare pleadings and briefs, draft settlement agreements, argue motions and assist in negotiations, mediations, trial preparation, trials and appeals.

Essential Duties:
  • Conduct comprehensive factual investigations and legal research, prepare persuasive, internal memoranda, pleadings and briefs, consistently improve practice skills and increase working knowledge of the law of trusts and estates.
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively, in writing and orally, to supervising attorneys, clients, beneficiaries, and other unrepresented persons, witnesses, other counsel, government authorities and judges and their staff.
  • In matters arising under the Probate Code, advise litigants and other interested persons regarding prosecution and defense of their rights and interests.
  • Prepare and timely file motions, opposition to motions, petitions, responses, objections, and any other written advocacy.
  • Whether working independently or on a team, set and uniformly meet reasonable deadlines; manage multiple cases and administrative responsibilities simultaneously; juggle shifting priorities.
  • Contribute to case strategy and discovery plan.
  • Promptly respond to communications from clients and supervising attorneys and keep them informed of case status and developments. Seek the assistance of more experienced attorneys as necessary and appropriate.

In addition, candidate must possess excellent academic credentials and client service skills.

Salary Range: $185,000 - $245,000

Job Requirements:
CA Bar admission is preferred.
