Our New York office is seeking a Litigation Associate with 2–6 years of experience in general commercial litigation. While this position is based in New York, the attorney will work closely with colleagues in both our New York and New Jersey offices and will handle matters arising in both jurisdictions. Our litigators represent multinational corporations, financial institutions, and government bodies in complex and significant disputes. We handle pre-trial, trial, and arbitration matters in federal and state courts, as well as appeals. We staff our matters intelligently and leanly, giving associates meaningful opportunities for hands-on experience, direct client contact, and active participation in all phases of litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle complex commercial litigation matters for clients represented by both the New York and New Jersey offices.
- Draft and argue motions, manage discovery (including electronic discovery), and take and defend depositions.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and briefs.
- Participate in client meetings, strategy sessions, and case development.
- Contribute to trial preparation, arbitration hearings, and appellate briefing.
- Collaborate closely with Members and other attorneys to develop creative, business-oriented litigation strategies.
- Work seamlessly with colleagues across offices to ensure consistent and effective client representation.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey. Candidates admitted only in New York must be eligible and willing to promptly waive into the New Jersey Bar.
- 2–6 years of litigation experience in a law firm or similar professional environment.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Salary and benefits:
- Salary Range: $190,000 – $230,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
