Description:
Cozen O'Connor is seeking attorneys with a minimum of two years of litigation experience to join our growing litigation practice in our Los Angeles and San Diego offices. This position offers the opportunity to handle your own cases while still working closely with nationally recognized practitioners, gain meaningful litigation responsibility, and build a long-term career within a sophisticated and collaborative practice. The role also offers a hybrid work environment, with the ability to work remotely multiple days per week.Responsibilities include:
- Representing clients in state and federal courts throughout all phases of litigation;
- Managing complex commercial, property damage, construction, product liability, and other high-exposure matters;
- Investigating and evaluating claims arising from fires, explosions, floods, product failures, construction defects, equipment failures, utility incidents, and other catastrophic events;
- Collaborating with experts, consultants, and industry professionals to develop case strategies;
- Drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and briefs;
- Taking and defending depositions;
- Preparing for and appearing at court hearings;
- Participating in mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial; and
- Maintaining effective communication with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation, analytical, writing, and advocacy skills and be able to manage matters independently while working collaboratively within a team-oriented practice. Experience in commercial litigation, construction litigation, product liability, business disputes, or complex property damage litigation is preferred. Insurance experience working with insurers, coverage issues, claims investigations, or large-loss matters, is a plus. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in California.
The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $205,000 with the opportunity for a significant performance bonus and represents the Firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
