Davis Law Group Trial Attorneys is a growing civil litigation firm representing individuals and businesses in complex disputes throughout Georgia. We are building a litigation department centered on strong advocacy, case ownership, accountability, excellent client service, and efficient case resolution.We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Litigation Associate who is capable of independently managing a litigation caseload while collaborating with and receiving strategic oversight from the firm's Litigation Manager and Managing Attorney.
This position is designed for an attorney who has moved beyond the junior-associate stage and can confidently manage discovery, dispositive motions, hearings, depositions, mediations, negotiations, and substantial portions of trial preparation.
About the role:
The Mid-Level Litigation Associate will serve as the primary attorney responsible for assigned matters and will be expected to move cases forward without waiting for senior attorneys or support staff to identify routine next steps.
The attorney will have meaningful autonomy over case management and litigation strategy while having access to senior attorneys for complex strategic decisions, significant risk issues, and particularly sophisticated matters.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, capable advocate, practical problem-solver, and organized case manager who understands that remote work requires a high degree of responsiveness, preparation, and personal accountability.
This is a fully remote position, but the attorney must be available for in-person hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, client meetings, and other litigation-related appearances as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage an assigned litigation caseload from intake or appearance through resolution
- Develop and implement case strategy in consultation with senior attorneys when appropriate
- Draft and revise complaints, answers, counterclaims, motions, briefs, discovery, dispositive motions, settlement documents, and other substantive filings
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Independently handle routine and substantive hearings
- Prepare for and participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations
- Conduct client strategy meetings and maintain proactive client communication
- Develop discovery plans and oversee written discovery, document production, subpoenas, and third-party discovery
- Identify, retain, and work with experts when necessary
- Evaluate liability, damages, defenses, settlement posture, and litigation risk
- Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, hearings, and trial
- Assist with or serve in significant roles during trial preparation and trial
- Maintain awareness of all deadlines, court orders, docket activity, and procedural requirements in assigned cases
- Regularly review case files and proactively identify the next substantive steps required to advance each matter
- Provide strategic direction to paralegals and support staff while maintaining attorney responsibility for substantive case management and legal deadlines
- Review paralegal work product when attorney review is required
- Maintain organized, accurate, and complete electronic case files
- Participate in mandatory attorney case reviews, litigation strategy meetings, and professional-development sessions
- Assist in mentoring junior attorneys when appropriate
- Maintain professional and responsive communication with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and members of the firm
Qualifications Required:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Georgia Bar license in good standing
- Approximately 3–7 years of substantive litigation experience
- Demonstrated experience independently managing litigation matters
- Experience conducting depositions
- Experience handling hearings independently
- Substantial civil discovery experience
- Strong motion practice and legal writing skills
- Ability to analyze complex factual and legal issues and recommend practical solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and deadline-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple active litigation matters simultaneously
- Ability to work independently while recognizing when escalation or senior-level input is appropriate
- Comfort working in a fully remote, technology-driven law practice
Strongly preferred:
- First-chair or substantial second-chair trial experience
- Georgia state and superior court litigation experience
- Experience with commercial litigation, business disputes, complex civil litigation, or family litigation
- Experience handling dispositive motions
- Experience negotiating significant settlements
- Tennessee Bar admission
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys
- Familiarity with MyCase, CaseFleet, Lexis, electronic filing platforms, and comparable legal technology

A successful Mid-Level Litigation Associate is able to independently move a case forward while using senior attorneys strategically rather than relying on them for routine case management.
