San Mateo boutique law firm is seeking a full-time associate position for its litigation practice. We are looking for a highly capable and motivated individual for challenging and interesting legal assignments representing businesses covering employment and business law issues before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. This position demands excellent business judgment, strategic thinking and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Active Membership in the California State Bar is Required in Good Standing
  • Minimum (2) two plus years of civil litigation experience (please do not apply if less than two years)
  • Experienced with discovery and motion practice, drafting pleadings, document review, oral arguments; trial practice a plus
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, with a keen ability to interface with clients of diverse backgrounds
  • Legal research and analysis – conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments at the same time; able to manage own caseload and work independently
  • Manage projects effectively with team-oriented approach
  • Maintain awareness of upcoming deadlines and proactively anticipate and complete necessary tasks
  • Participate in strategic communications with clients and answer legal inquiries
  • Timely report to clients regarding significant developments
  • Cultivate &maintain strong relationships with current clients and prospective clients
  • Stay up to date on hot topics in the law and contribute to firm blog
  • Employment law experience a plus
  • Bilingual a plus
