Summary:
Improve the quality of the interactions in the Legal Rhetoric program. Advise students in legal rhetoric techniques and approaches. Help WCL Students understand approaches to legal writing. Create database of examples and approaches to legal rhetoric writing. Identify areas of greatest need; research and implement related solutions.

Essential Functions:
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Support the program in developing academic programs; assist the department with sample preparation.
  • Provide students with information and guide them through Legal Rhetoric issues. Be the initial point of contact for students experiencing Legal Rhetoric challenges and/or difficulties.
  • Develop a resource bank of writing samples and support materials. The Fellow will lead the development of and/or support the design and delivery of teaching materials, such as writing problems for future use in the program.
  • Review issues and opportunities associated with the utilization of Legal Artificial Intelligence. Develop best practices related to all Legal Rhetoric concepts and AI issues; lead workshops related to various rhetoric topics including drafting, sample preparations, and using AI in legal writing. Develop workshops for content development and submission. Research and identify various issue with AI reliance (accuracy, plagiarism, citations).
  • Develop a searchable database (s) for faculty and upper level students to use and contribute to.
  • Lead and support the design and delivery of new teaching materials; assess the impact of such tools.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctor issued by WCL in 2023.
  • 1-2 years of related legal experience.
  • Proven understanding of Legal Rhetoric processes and practices.Understanding and awareness of best practices in Legal Rhetoric concepts and philosophies.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctor.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
