Who We're Seeking
A Largest Trade Association is seeking a knowledgeable and personable attorney for a member-facing role which provides timely and accurate information on real estate related questions and needs. Based out of our Orlando HQ, the Legal Hotline Attorney provides a very visible, impactful, and key valued service to our members. The Legal Hotline Attorney primarily fields questions by phone and email posed by members on A Largest Trade Association Legal Hotline, which is a valuable member benefit available to all A Largest Trade Association members. When our members need legal help quickly, A Largest Trade Association Legal Hotline is their resource, and this is where you shine in representing the association answering questions on everything from license law to contracts. As needed, the Legal Hotline Attorney will also assist the Law & Policy Department including conducting research, reviewing contracts, drafting memoranda, drafting articles, giving presentations, and interacting with A Largest Trade Association association committees.

What You'll Do:
  • Fields phone calls through A Largest Trade Association Legal Hotline and provides answers, by telephone and any other technology authorized by A Largest Trade Association, to legal inquiries raised by members.
  • Tracks member inquiries and responses through proprietary software and ensures resolution to those inquiries.
  • Researches real estate legal topics to provide information and answers to members.
  • Attends regular department meetings for collaborative discussions of current trends on the hotline and legal topics impacting members and their businesses. Also attends meetings on topics relevant to the department's work and prepares a summary of that to share with the department.
  • Conducts legal research as requested by General Counsel or Associate General Counsel and prepares memoranda to summarize findings, analysis, and conclusions.
  • Drafts legal articles which summarize current legal issues or trends.

Requirements:
Qualified applicants will possess:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Active Florida Bar membership in good standing; eligible to practice law in Florida.
  • 1 year or more Legal consulting experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and database management software. Ability to use Windows based PC and voice-over IP phone system.
  • Proven track record as a provider of exceptional customer service in any industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skillset to include active listening, patience, empathy, phone etiquette, clarity in communication, and proficiency for multitasking.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to explain in detail steps needed/taken to resolve issues.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills and ability to explain legal research and answers to nonlegal realtors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, organize, complete assignments, and complete goals on time and as defined.
