We are currently seeking a Labor & Employment Lawyer with wage and hour experience to have national responsibility for advice, counsel, and litigation management in the exciting world of emergency medical services.

This Attorney will spend their time focused on wage & hour compliance, litigation, and supporting payroll functions and human resources.. This role has a special knowledge and focus on wage and hour law. Experience with more complicated state wage and hour laws, benefits administration, and collective bargaining agreements is a plus. This is a high-profile position within the organization and no two days will look the same for this Attorney. Responsibilities:
  • Support payroll, human resources, and business operations to be compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws in the development of compensation strategy, integration of pay systems, and execution of pay practices.
  • Conduct or oversee audits of pay practices, ensure accuracy of data, and provide guidance to correct wage and hour gaps.
  • Stays current with wage and hour laws and regulatory requirements and communicates guidance proactively.
  • Work with and advise human resources, payroll, business partners, and other functional teams regarding wage and hour laws, compliance and employment-related issues across the country.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with all levels directly, as well as providing guidance and practical solutions for various corporate initiatives.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders.
  • Assists other Departments of the Company in reviewing legal issues, including personnel, employee relations, and labor relations issues
  • Delivers training and direction to Leaders throughout the Company.
  • Effectively prioritizes and manages concurrent projects with competing Company demands
  • Manages outside counsel regarding wage and hour matters.
  • Lead and advise on cross-functional projects and support legal and business operations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4-7 years of experience counseling clients on wage and hour matters, employment advice and counsel, conducting investigations, and employment litigation.
  • Awareness of new or pending federal and state legislation, rules and regulations and industry developments and trends.
  • Experience working independently and cross-functionally.
  • Experience taking on complex projects.
