BeOne is seeking a self-motivated Legal Counsel to support increasing demand from the business. The ideal candidate will have excellent negotiation, contract drafting, and analytical skills, as well as previous in-house legal, clinical operations, or procurement experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company. Additionally, the candidate will have a proven track record of collaborating with colleagues in legal and business functions on a wide range of contract types, effectively and efficiently handling a large volume of agreements, and serving as a trusted legal advisor to business partners.
Essential Functions:
- Draft, negotiate and manage a high volume and wide variety of contracts, including master service agreements, statements of work, amendments, clinical trial agreements throughout the lifecycle of the study, confidentiality agreements, and consulting agreements.
- Evaluate legal and contractual risks and escalate matters in accordance with BeOne policies and guidance.
- Provide practical, solution-oriented legal support to BeOne business functions, including research and development, procurement, finance, manufacturing, information technology, and others.
- Ensure contract terms and conditions are compliant with applicable laws and regulations as well as accurately reflect BeOne intent and strategy.
- Train and educate BeOne business functions on the use of contract templates, applicable playbooks, relevant legal issues, and good contracting practices.
- Assist in implementing new contracts policies and procedures.
- Lead and participate in special projects and successfully drive change with the organization as needed.
- Partner cross-functionally to develop contracting approaches for new business strategies.
- Conduct legal research, as needed, on a range of legal issues, including applicable laws, regulations, and contract-related matters, to support negotiations and business decision-making.

- Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience:
- U.S. law degree (J.D.) and current “good standing” admission to at least one U.S. state bar
- 3+ years of prior in-house experience as a member of a legal department, clinical operations department, or procurement organization in a biotechnology or pharmaceuticals company strongly preferred.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work across global time zones.
- Working knowledge of applicable healthcare laws, pharmaceutical and other relevant laws and regulations and ability to interpret and apply such knowledge to inform business activities and contract positions.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, as well as to work independently, balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high level of professionalism.
- Highly effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information using discretion and judgment.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and be reliable and responsive.
- Ability to be flexible and willing to accept new responsibilities as needed.
