The Role:
Assist Associate General Counsel and General Counsel, North America of rapidly growing international gaming and entertainment company. Provide a wide variety of legal support services for interactive operations including transactional matters, data privacy, new product launches, marketing and advertising, regulatory and general legal and corporate matters. Identify and analyze legal and business issues, articulate risks and benefits, and present clear recommendations to help guide key stakeholders to the best decisions for the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review and negotiate various commercial contracts for A Racetrack Company sports betting, igaming, free-to-play, product and next generation technology units, including master service and technology agreements, advertisings and affiliate agreements, sponsorships, content and licensing, NDAs, consulting agreements, data processing and data transfers agreements.
  • Draft/implement contest and promotion terms of use and game rules. Review marketing materials and liaise with outside counsel on local regulations and requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on state and province interactive regulations and work with business units on legal issues surrounding the company's licensed and regulated products.
  • Support the centralization of matter management and contract database.
  • Review and suggest updates to company policies as a means of reducing risk and providing efficient educational resources for business units. Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management; Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically.
  • Create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.
  • Assist with the drafting/implementation of privacy notices and policies for interactive websites, products applications, and services.
  • Provide advice regarding privacy considerations and user interfaces(including consent and disclosure requirements) to be built into new interactive products, apps, and services (“Privacy by Design”).

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate degree (required).
  • Admission to practice law and membership in good standing of at least one state bar (required).
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience as an attorney either with a law firm or in-house with a public or private organization.
  • Gaming, product/technology, data privacy, and marketing counsel experience a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of US privacy laws (such as CAN-SPAM, VPPA, biometric laws and comprehensive state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act)
