The Day-To-Day:
- Research and provide legal and regulatory analysis and advice on financial services and investment management, privacy, employment and other laws and regulations globally
- Conduct legal analysis of complex topics and translating this analysis into practical and succinct legal advice
- Participate in ad-hoc regulatory and business projects, which may include implementation of new legislation or regulatory requirements
- Launch new regulated entities (including incorporation and licensing)
- Draft or review various documents related to legal support of the business globally, which may include commercial contracts, employment agreements, investment management agreements, fund documentation, policies, business guidelines
- Handle corporate law and commercial matters
- Handle employment law and litigation matters
- Draft, review and negotiate vendor contracts
- Coordinate with external counsel on various matters
- Train and mentor paralegals, fellow lawyers and business colleagues on new or changing regulations and other matters
Your qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited law school, with admission to a bar
- 6+ years' post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years of experience at a mid to large sized law firm
- Skill in effectively balancing business interests against legal and regulatory risks, and factoring in the bigger picture, strategic goals
- Familiarity with international investment management, employment or privacy laws in various jurisdictions will be beneficial, but not mandatory
Compensation:
- $195,000 - $285,000 base salary per year in the state of WA. New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience.
- Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
