What We Need:The Legal Counsel is a leading performer responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements while advising on contractual risks and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role partners with internal stakeholders to streamline contracting processes, implement best practices, and develop strategies that support business objectives and mitigate legal exposure.
What You'll Do:
- Drafts, reviews, and negotiates a wide range of agreements, including strategic supply and equipment purchase contracts, sales agreements, logistics agreements, consulting agreements, leases, software licenses, IT service agreements, privacy and confidentiality agreements.
- Provides practical legal advice on contracts, dispute resolution, legal risk and best practices on a variety of topics to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develops and implements improvements to contracting processes, including development of standard templates, checklists, process flows, and training for business stakeholders.
- Conducts legal research on contractual and other legal issues.
- Monitors legal and regulatory developments, such as extended producer responsibility laws and trade relations, and advises leadership accordingly.
- Collaborates with business leaders to develop proactive strategies for risk mitigation.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
What You Have:
- 6-8 years' relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current active license to practice law, Georgia preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in top tier law firm or corporate law department preferred.
- Experience with drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a variety of audiences, with the ability to present complicated issues clearly, simply and succinctly.
- Demonstrated ability to get things done both through formal channels and informal networks.
- Experience working with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Highly analytical; excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented; able to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
- Experience in manufacturing, building supply and/or housing industries preferred.

What Else?
- Infrequent travel may be required.
