The Real Estate Law Department has an opening for a mid-level Counsel for transactional real estate work.

This position is located in either Pleasanton, California or Boise, Idaho. We currently require employees to work onsite Monday through Thursday to support collaboration and engagement. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role.
  • Providing legal counsel to management and real estate business staff with respect to the structuring, documentation and negotiation of real estate transactions
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate contracts, leases, and other real estate-related legal documents.
  • Conducting due diligence in connection with real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Providing legal support for the day-to-day management of owned and leased properties.
  • Collaborating with other internal teams, including finance, property management, and operations, to support business objectives.
  • Managing the paralegal functions that support the portfolio to which you are assigned.
  • Supervising outside counsel and overseeing outside counsel work to ensure delivery of high quality, cost-effective legal services.
  • Supporting inclusion and belonging initiatives

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
  • Law Degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar Membership in California or Idaho.
  • At least five (5) years of sophisticated commercial real estate transaction experience, including representation of retail tenants and/or landlords and developers on a wide range of matters, including acquisition, development, leasing and management of commercial properties.
  • A broad and in-depth knowledge of real estate legal concepts, laws, and a variety of deal structures and documentation, preferably in a retail context.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, well-developed drafting and negotiation skills, excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
