What You'll Do:
The Legal Counsel, Commercial Legal, will provide legal support in the areas of contract drafting and negotiations, supporting Docusign's U.S. sales team. We are looking for a high performer who possesses a strong service mindset, is adaptable, collaborative, loves to learn, and is passionate about innovating the legal service delivery model.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to a Senior Director, Associate General Counsel, Commercial Legal.

Responsibility
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a variety of transactions with current and potential customers, including SaaS subscription agreements, professional services agreements, NDAs, etc.
  • Analyze risk and create innovative solutions to the wide-range of challenges our high- growth global business faces as we expand and scale
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of customer templates, playbooks, commercial policies, procedures and programs, as well as training for same
  • Serve as a strategic counsel, trusted advisor, and legal business partner to various sales, professional services, finance and other departments with customer-facing responsibilities

What you bring:
Basic
  • 5+ years of related in-house legal department and technology-related contracting experience or law firm experience.
  • Juris Doctorate Degree
  • Admitted to practice and in good standing with a U.S. state bar

Preferred:
  • Preference for candidates local to Seattle, WA or the San Francisco CA Bay Area
  • Eligible for in-house counsel registration in California or Washington, as applicable
  • Experience supporting regulated industries, such as public sector/government customers, financial services, and/or healthcare
  • In-house experience in the high-tech industry
  • Excellent contract negotiating and drafting skills
