Job Description:
Change the world. Love your job.

TI's Law Department is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and proactive self‑starter to join our Worldwide Commercial Engagements team as Legal Counsel. You will operate in a fast‑moving, global environment supporting a cutting‑edge and expanding semiconductor company, serving as a trusted advisor to leaders across TI.

You will join an experienced, collaborative Dallas‑based legal team. The role offers broad, international exposure to complex commercial contracts, online commerce, intellectual property, open‑source and software licensing, supply chain, marketing, crisis communications, and cybersecurity. Experience with technology licensing, tech transfer, or IP‑intensive transactions is a plus.

We are looking for agile learners and true go‑getters—attorneys who take initiative, anticipate issues, and independently drive matters to completion. You will manage your own portfolio, apply strong business judgment, and work across an international team to advise on emerging and evolving business models.

In this role, you will help ensure TI is asking—and solving—the right questions. You will quickly assess whether an issue advances a meaningful business objective, reframe it when needed, and deprioritize it when it doesn't. You'll begin each project with a clear definition of success, align with stakeholders upfront, and track whether your actions deliver the intended outcome. You will be expected to escalate thoughtfully and with purpose—to improve outcomes, not simply to be cautious—using escalation to drive alignment, enable decisions, or materially shift strategy while maintaining responsibility for forward progress.

You will help us move from custom, one‑off lawyering to modular contract architecture by creating reusable contract structures and legal frameworks that enable speed, scale, and consistent risk posture. You will help modernize our operations through standardization, automation, and AI. We are looking for someone who gives data‑driven advice, grounded in prior deal history, defined legal positions, and prevailing market norms. You'll contribute to building and maintaining the legal data, playbooks, and knowledge assets that support this approach.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be, or be eligible to become, licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • Minimum of five years of experience practicing transactional (preferred) and/or litigation related work at a top law firm, corporate law department or equivalent experience (ideally international context).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong advocacy, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to balance detail-orientation and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple issues/projects at the same time; project management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to tackle new subject matter areas and an eagerness to constantly learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse international team of lawyers and business managers.
  • Interest and enthusiasm in leveraging technology for the provision of legal services.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience representing or interacting with technology, automotive and/or manufacturing companies.
