Job Description:Typical assignments include assisting with all aspects of case preparation such as researching legal issues, drafting and writing motions, responses and pleadings, providing trial support to Assistant United States Attorneys, and assembling exhibits for trial. Students observe trials in the District Court and appellate arguments at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Qualifications:
Second and Third year law students. Law school graduates are not eligible for volunteer law clerk positions. Must be a U.S. citizen and will be subject to a background investigation due to the sensitive nature of the work performed by the office.
