We do Consulting DifferentlyThe Law School Summer Associate position is a full-time, paid internship consulting staff role for candidates who are currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor program as first or second year students. This role will support BRG's Healthcare Governance, Compliance, and Ethics team and the firm's Privacy and Data Protection team. Subject to the Summer Associate's performance, and depending on their anticipated graduation date, the Law School Summer Associate may be considered for additional internship opportunities or full-time employment.

What You'll Do:
The Law School Summer Associate will support teams that often assist clients with compliance, business process improvement, and strategic consulting. Your role will be dynamic, requiring analytical problem-solving, creative thinking, and effective collaboration. As you progress in your career at BRG, you will refine your expertise and may specialize in areas that align with your strengths and interests.
Your work may include analyzing statutes, regulations, and related guidance documents; drafting research memoranda; developing client presentation materials; drafting or revising policies and procedures; detecting key trends in enforcement data; creating training and education materials; drafting negotiation playbooks; participating in strategy sessions with experts; and contributing to thought leadership initiatives. Your work may also involve:
- Conducting In-Depth Research: Gather information from statutes, regulations, and administrative rules; agency guidance documents; industry reports; and academic sources to develop well-supported recommendations.
- Developing Client Materials: Create clear, impactful reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborating & Problem-Solving: Work in a team-driven environment, applying critical thinking to complex business problems and developing creative solutions to clearly communicate concepts, findings, and recommendations.
- Engaging with BRG Experts & Clients: Interact with senior staff, subject matter experts, and clients to refine analyses and present recommendations.
- Organization & Self-Management: Develop and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets and other files as dictated by project needs to manage your work scope and communicate critical updates to clients and stakeholders.

Who You Are:
We're looking for analytical problem-solvers with strong verbal and written communication skills from diverse academic and professional backgrounds who are eager to take on challenges and thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Successful applicants should demonstrate an interest in the healthcare industry through previous academic or professional experience, or a combination of the two. Other desired attributed include:
- Education: Progression towards a Juris Doctor degree. Outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated interest (e.g., through coursework, job experience, or extracurriculars) in health law, compliance and ethics, and/or data privacy are highly desirable.
- Experience: 0-2 years of work experience, including internships.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is required; experience with Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Copilot (or another artificial intelligence large language model) is highly desirable. The willingness and interest to expand into these capabilities is a must.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to structure ambiguous challenges, analyze legal obligations and related agency guidance, and develop actionable insights.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to different audiences.
