The Law Clerk provides legal research support, drafts pleadings and motions, prepares deposition summaries, and assists attorneys with trial preparation, all while working a flexible part time schedule that aligns with academic commitments. This role offers a clear growth path, with the potential to transition into a full time clerkship after the bar exam and advance to an associate position upon passing the bar.

Primary Job Duties:
  • Assist in drafting correspondence to opposing counsel, clients, and courts
  • Perform administrative litigation support such as file indexing, organizing evidence, and managing litigation databases
  • Review and organize case files, exhibits, and document productions
  • Prepare chronologies, case summaries, and timelines to support litigation strategy
  • Observe depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings, as opportunities arise
  • Assist with factual investigations, including reviewing contracts, medical records, and other case materials
  • Support attorneys in preparing exhibit lists, witness files, and trial binders
  • Compile and analyze discovery responses from opposing parties
  • Participate in strategy discussions and team meetings to gain exposure to case development
  • Research court rules, procedural requirements, and jurisdiction-specific filing standards
  • Help review and summarize expert reports and supporting materials
  • Assist with legal project management tasks, including tracking deadlines and organizing case documents
  • Collaborate with attorneys to brainstorm arguments, case themes, and strategic approaches
  • Conduct cite-checking, reviews, and proofreading of briefs and memorandums

Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled as a 3rd year law student at an accredited law school
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and citation formats
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and attention to detail
