Description:The Law Clerk provides legal research support, drafts pleadings and motions, prepares deposition summaries, and assists attorneys with trial preparation, all while working a flexible part time schedule that aligns with academic commitments. This role offers a clear growth path, with the potential to transition into a full time clerkship after the bar exam and advance to an associate position upon passing the bar.
Primary Job Duties:
- Assist in drafting correspondence to opposing counsel, clients, and courts
- Perform administrative litigation support such as file indexing, organizing evidence, and managing litigation databases
- Review and organize case files, exhibits, and document productions
- Prepare chronologies, case summaries, and timelines to support litigation strategy
- Observe depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings, as opportunities arise
- Assist with factual investigations, including reviewing contracts, medical records, and other case materials
- Support attorneys in preparing exhibit lists, witness files, and trial binders
- Compile and analyze discovery responses from opposing parties
- Participate in strategy discussions and team meetings to gain exposure to case development
- Research court rules, procedural requirements, and jurisdiction-specific filing standards
- Help review and summarize expert reports and supporting materials
- Assist with legal project management tasks, including tracking deadlines and organizing case documents
- Collaborate with attorneys to brainstorm arguments, case themes, and strategic approaches
- Conduct cite-checking, reviews, and proofreading of briefs and memorandums

Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a 3rd year law student at an accredited law school
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and citation formats
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
