Law Clerk - Temporary

*Temporary Position**
As a Law Clerk at A Multiple-Line Insurance Organization, you will work under the direct supervision of experienced trial lawyers providing support on high exposure, complex injury claims. Your support includes drafting initial pleadings and discovery, responding to discovery, summarizing medical records and discovery, law and motion, research, preparation of trial documents, trial support, Small Claims Court trials, and other specific assignments.

Essential Job Functions:

• Preparation of initial pleadings and discovery.
• Preparation of discovery responses.
• Summarize discovery responses and medical records.
• Legal research and preparation of motions and oppositions to motions.
• Preparation of trial documents including motions in limine and providing trial support.
• Assist the insured in small claims cases by investigating the facts in order to prepare trial briefs, prepare the insured for trial, attend trial and defend the company when listed as a named party to the action.
• Assume other responsibilities as directed.

Education:
Juris Doctor degree and/or attendance in law school

Education:
Completion of 1st year of law school.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of insurance, tort law, evidence and Code of Civil Procedure.
• Effective communication, persuasion, writing and analytical skills.
• Must also reside in the geographic region where the office is located.
