Job Summary
Performs Complex Legal Research and Analysis Work. Work Involves Examining, Preparing, And Evaluating Legal Documents, Conducting Legal Research, and Providing Assistance to Attorneys. Works Under General Supervision with Moderate Latitude for The Use of Initiative and Independent Judgment.
Essential Functions
Researches and Analyzes Legal Sources to Include Statutes, Case Law, Administrative Records, Opinions, Articles, Treaties, and Various Rules and Regulations; Reviews Drafts of Laws, Rules And Regulations Affecting Agency Operations; and Provides Research on Bills and Amendments For Legislative Consideration.
Assists Attorneys in Providing Legal Advice and Counsel; Assists in Preparation for Hearings, Trials, Meetings, Interviews, Appellate Arguments, Depositions, and Docket Calls.
Assists in Preparing, Reviewing, and Editing Legal Opinions, Motions, Briefs, Abstracts, Petitions, Summary Judgments, and Other Legal Documents; and Ensures Timely Filings of Legal Documents.
Provides Liaison with Other Departments, Agencies, Organizations, and The Public; and Prepares Presentations and Participates in Case Conferences.
Provides Technical Assistance to Others. Performs a Variety of Marginal Duties Not Listed, to Be Determined and Assigned as Needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Training
Completion of One-Year of Law School Accredited by An Organization Recognized by The Council for Higher Education (chea), the United States Department of Education (usde), Or by The American Bar Association (aba).
Legal Work Experience Preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of Legal Principles, Practices, and Proceedings.
- Knowledge of Applicable State and Federal Laws, Rules, Regulations, and Statutes Preferred.
- Knowledge of Agency and Departmental Organizational Structure, Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulations Preferred.

- Skill to Coordinate with Other Staff, Departments, Officials, Agencies, Organizations, and The Public.
