Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority owned law firm in the United States, is seeking a Law Clerk to join our Securities & Corporate Law team in our New York City office. This is a part-time, hybrid position designed for a current 2L or 3L law student interested in gaining hands-on experience in securities, corporate, and business-related legal matters.About the role:
The Law Clerk will work closely with attorneys on a variety of securities and corporate law matters while gaining practical experience in a law firm environment. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated law student with an interest in securities regulation, corporate law, and business-related legal issues who is looking to develop their research, writing, and analytical skills.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and able to balance part-time legal work with their academic responsibilities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on securities, corporate, regulatory, and related legal issues
- Assist attorneys with drafting legal memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Research and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and regulatory guidance
- Assist with reviewing and organizing documents and materials related to client matters
- Support attorneys with case and matter preparation
- Assist with maintaining organized matter files and legal research materials
- Participate in team projects and provide general legal support as needed
- Perform additional research and law clerk responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited law school as a 2L or 3L student
- Demonstrated interest in securities law, corporate law, business law, or related areas
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Professional, dependable, and eager to learn
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
- Availability to work a part-time, hybrid schedule in New York City
