Position Summary:
We are seeking to hire a Law Clerk to join our legal team beginning this fall 2025. The Law Clerk will assist the Legal Team in a variety of legal matters, including preparing, reviewing and negotiating non-disclosure and other agreements; legal documentation management and organization; support and research on compliance initiatives. In addition, the Law Clerk may help in preparing, reviewing, and negotiating non-disclosure, sales and purchase agreements. The Law Clerk will also assist with driving process improvements to achieve greater efficiencies in the management of all contract matters. Additionally, the Law Clerk will assist the team in other special projects, as assigned. The ideal candidate will be in their 2nd year of law school and will have the ability and desire to work directly with our internal teams in a busy, fast-paced environment and handle a high level of responsibility in close collaborative relationships. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate legal environment and contribute to the success of our organization.
Schedule 15-20 hours/week during the academic school year, with opportunity to work more during breaks and summer. Office environment includes a hybrid schedule in downtown Minneapolis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general support to the Legal Team where needed. This may involve legal documentation management and organization projects, conducting legal research, and meeting with team members across departments within SPS.
- Assist various business teams in the review, negotiation, and execution of contracts, including Non-Disclosure Agreements, Customer and Vendor Contracts.
- Support the contract management process and monitor incoming legal requests.
- Support and provide research for compliance initiatives/projects in a variety of legal areas, including employment law and privacy.
- Assist in reviewing and responding to small claims requests/customer disputes.
- Execute special projects as requested by members of the legal team.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently a rising 2L.
- Experience in a corporate setting or law firm preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-driven legal research, drafting, or contract analysis tools, and enthusiasm for leveraging technology to improve legal workflowsAbility to work professionally and collaboratively across teams and at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional, concise, and empathetic manner.
- Strong analytical and synthesizing skills with the ability to issue-spot and assess circumstantial risk for the business.
- High attention to detail and consistency in meeting deadlines.
- Dependable organizational and project management capabilities, including the ability to productively contribute to or lead complex projections through to completion.
