Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Law Clerk who is currently enrolled as a third- or fourth-year evening law student. The ideal candidate will be bilingual, possess strong legal research and writing skills, and be capable of supporting attorneys throughout all stages of case preparation and litigation.Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a third- or fourth-year evening/night law student at an accredited law school.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research regarding applicable statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal authorities.
- Investigate case facts and assist attorneys in developing and preparing matters.
- Collect, review, and organize evidence, records, and other materials for attorney review.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and case files in electronic and/or physical formats.
- Draft and assist in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence with clients and other parties.
- Prepare case summaries, reports, and supporting materials in anticipation of hearings and trials.
- Assist in gathering statements and relevant information from clients, witnesses, and other parties.
- Provide support during hearings and trials, including taking notes, preparing and organizing exhibits, and reviewing court transcripts.
- Assist with the filing and service of legal documents, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and appeals, in accordance with applicable court procedures and deadlines.
- Communicate with clients to obtain case-related information and provide appropriate updates regarding the status and progress of their matters.
