Job Summary:  
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Law Clerk who is interested in Trusts & Estates Litigation to join our law firm's Burlingame, CA office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a current law student (ideally in their second or third year of law school) to gain hands-on experience in a professional legal environment. We will work around class schedule and class needs.

The Law Clerk will assist attorneys by conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and supporting case preparation in various areas of law. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

What you will do:
  • Legal Research: Conduct research using in-office resources; draft memoranda on case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents.
  • Document Drafting & Production: Assist in drafting motions, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery documents; help with document production and formatting filings, including TOA/TOC, citations, redactions, and service.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients as directed; assist with client intakes, engagement letters, and when available, observe meetings, depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Calendar & Deadline Management: Learn and use the calendar system; set reminders, track deadlines, and assist with scheduling hearings and depositions.
  • File & Document Management: Maintain and organize case files; assist with opening/closing files, document productions, and updates.
  • Preparation for Legal Proceedings: Support preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials—including binder creation, exhibit organization, and logistics coordination.
  • Legal Support Tasks: Assist attorneys with pleadings, motions, and discovery tracking; conduct document review and legal research.
  • Investigative Support: Learn to subpoena documents and run property/person profile searches.
  • Other Duties: Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks and assist with other responsibilities as assigned.

What you will need:
  • Current enrollment in a Juris Doctor (JD) program from an accredited law school.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Hourly pay: $25.00/hour.
