How will you make an impact in this role?
Under the general supervision of the Manager & Counsel, the Law Clerk is responsible for the end-to-end processing of garnishments, levies, and other similar third-party legal orders and providing other administrative support as required.

The Law Clerk will be responsible for:
  • Intake, processing and responding to garnishments, levies, asset freezes, restraining notices and information subpoenas and similar legal orders as required.
  • Ensuring that responses and actions related to garnishments, levies, and similar third-party legal orders comply with relevant federal and state laws.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of applicable federal and state laws, and policies and procedures related to the processing of legal orders.
  • Navigating multiple systems and platforms and adapting to new technologies.
  • Providing administrative support to the legal order processing team as required.
  • Following escalation criteria for third party legal orders to the supervisor when required.
  • Performing other work-related duties as required.
  • Supporting projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a legal assistant in a law firm or in-house legal department role preferred.
  • Prior experience with processing levies, garnishments, and other legal orders.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to discern critical matters.
  • Manage workload to ensure that court or agency-imposed deadlines are met and responses are complete and accurate.
  • Able to quickly train on, navigate, and extract information and perform actions on a variety of databases and information platforms.
  • Comfortable with learning new processes and using technology tools.
  • Ability to use good judgment in decision making.
  • Able to work under pressure while requiring minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Salary Range: $20.00 to $35.82 hourly + bonus + benefits
