Responsibilities:
We are looking for Summer Fall and Spring Law Clerks.

A law clerk supports attorneys by assembling and organizing information for legal documents; researching law; writing reports and memoranda.
  • conduct research on laws, rules, and policies regarding immigration and analyze potential effects on immigration;
  • Research local court regulations for mandamus lawsuit cases;
  • Draft motions and oppositions;
  • Keep up with current regulations and procedures relating to filing applications;
  • Analyzes legal documents and briefs, ensuring accurate statement and depiction of facts, case law, and precedent provided. Reports any inconsistencies or suggested revisions to the attorney;
  • Assists with maintaining files and databases;
  • Assists with other essential functions of the firm.

Requirements:
  • Analytical and problem solving skills within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to locate and research information efficiently, to use it effectively, and to evaluate the quality of the information
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to relate to people at all levels
  • Excellent data analytic skills and reporting abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and organize tasks
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to multitask, proactively resolve any issues that arise, and work effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines

Education:
  • 2L or 3L preferred
  • 3.0 or higher GPA preferred
  • Immigration class or clinic experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Political Science, History, English, Journalism etc. preferred
