We are seeking associates in law school class years 2017 – 2022 to join our litigation team in Los Angeles and Century City, with a focus on trial work. Qualified applicants will have top law school credentials and substantial complex litigation and trial experience—we are particularly interested in candidates who have examined or cross-examined witnesses at trial or in arbitration, whether in private practice or in a government trial role. We welcome candidates from across the substantive litigation spectrum (e.g., securities, class actions, antitrust, white collar, entertainment, trade secrets) as well as candidates coming from a U.S. Attorney's Office, a state AG or district attorney's office, or comparable government trial practice. District court or appellate court clerkship experience preferred but not required. Primary responsibilities include developing case strategy, researching and drafting dispositive and contested motions, taking and defending depositions, directing discovery and expert workup, and preparing and examining witnesses at trial, arbitration, and evidentiary hearings. More senior candidates will serve as senior members of trial teams, own the pretrial record, and supervise and develop junior associates. Applicants are encouraged to describe their trial experience specifically in their cover letter.
