BridgehouseLaw LLP is seeking a motivated and litigation-focused Associate Attorney to join our growing Charlotte, North Carolina office. This position is primarily focused on Landlord/Tenant law and related litigation matters, while also supporting Employment litigation and other civil litigation matters as needed.This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking significant hands-on litigation experience within a dynamic and growing international law firm environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing court appearances, hearings, motions, and litigation-related matters while working closely with senior attorneys and leadership.
Our firm regularly advises domestic and international clients on matters involving Landlord/Tenant disputes, employment litigation, business operations, immigration, and cross-border matters. Associates gain exposure to a broad range of litigation and business-related matters while developing professionally within a structured and growth-oriented environment.
Job Description:
Represent landlords, businesses, and other clients in matters involving:
- Residential and commercial Landlord/Tenant disputes
- Summary ejectment / eviction proceedings
- Lease disputes and enforcement actions
- Property damage and breach of lease matters
- Employment-related litigation and disputes
- Wrongful termination matters
- Civil litigation matters and court proceedings
- Contract disputes and related litigation matters
Additional responsibilities include:
- Draft pleadings, motions, demand letters, settlement agreements, and related legal documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
- Attend hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
- Assist in litigation strategy, discovery, and case preparation
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties
- Manage deadlines and maintain organized case files
- Support senior attorneys on complex litigation and business matters
- Participate in firm initiatives, training, and professional development
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in North Carolina
- Member in good standing with the NC Bar
- Minimum of 2 years of practicing attorney experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of courtroom and litigation experience as a licensed practicing attorney required
- Experience gained through law school clinics, internships, externships, clerkships, mock trial, or other academic programs will not count toward the required years of experience
- Prior experience independently handling hearings, court appearances, motions, and litigation-related matters strongly preferred
- Experience in Landlord/Tenant law, Employment litigation, and/or related civil litigation preferred
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively
