Description:

The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate with at least 3 years of litigation experience who will become a member of the firm's ADA Title III Team, a specialty group within the Labor & Employment Department. Strong litigation skills are a must, and substantive experience with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and/or equivalent state laws is a plus (but not absolutely necessary). The Associate can be based out of our Boston, New York or Washington, D.C. offices.

The Day-To-Day:
You will be a part of the firm's ADA Title III Team— a group of collegial attorneys nationwide who are some of the top practitioners and subject matter experts in the nation on Title III and other federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination against individuals with disabilities in public accommodations. The Team handles a significant share of the more than 12,000 federal ADA Title III lawsuits filed each year, some involving the most cutting edge issues in this practice area. Your work will include defending lawsuits brought against our Fortune 500 clients in ADA Title III litigation hotspots, with a focus on federal and state courts, counseling clients on compliance matters, and responding to DOJ and agency investigations into alleged discriminatory practices.

As part of the ADA Title III Team, you'll have the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases, typically directly with one of the partners on the Team. This means you will learn from the best. You will also interact regularly with the other attorneys as part of this close knit and supportive group.

You Have:
  • 4-6 years of experience with single plaintiff and/or class action discrimination lawsuits against public accommodations or housing providers (ADA Title III and Fair Housing Act experience is desirable);
  • Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills, and verbal and written skills required;
  • Strong litigation experience (e.g. writing, analysis, research, communication); and
  • Admission to the Massachusetts, New York or Washington, D.C. Bar (required).

What We Provide:
We provide competitive salary and benefits at all levels. We provide comprehensive training, CLE initiatives, Seyfarth University, industry credentialing, and hands-on learning by working side-by-side with our partners. We invest in our attorneys to advance in their careers by providing opportunities for substantive client contact as well as significant involvement in case strategy and management.
