Description:Fox Rothschild has an opening in the New York office for an attorney in our renowned Labor & Employment Department, working with our hospitality team. Candidates will have the opportunity to join our unique practice that represents some of New York's most popular restaurants, boutique hotels and entertainment and nightlife venues. This position involves a significant amount of day-to-day employment counseling with respect to wage and hour, discrimination and general employment matters. The ideal candidate will have four to eight years of experience. We are currently not accepting resumes from search firms for this position.
Qualifications: Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.
- Experience as a first-chair handling litigation concerning discrimination and/or wage and hour claims.
- Experience counseling on New York State and New York City employment matters.
- Some experience with labor relations in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with the New York State Hospitality Wage Order strongly preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
