The Opportunity:We have an exciting opportunity for a Labor & Employment Associate with 3-5 years of experience providing advice and counsel to employers and handling single-plaintiff, complex, collective, and/or class action litigation and proceedings on their behalf to join our Houston office. You'll be a member of our consistently ranked and nationally recognized Labor & Employment and Litigation practice groups.
The Day-To-Day:
As a Labor & Employment/Litigation associate, you'll have the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys.
You Have:
- 3-5 years' high-caliber experience representing employers in various types of labor and employment matters
- Experience handling employment law litigation, with an emphasis on single-plaintiff, complex and/or class and collective action matters, advice and counsel, administrative charges, policy reviews, and investigations. Practical litigation experience is a plus, with a preference for those who have handled court conferences, depositions, mediations, dispositive motions, and trials or who have wage and hour experience.
- Excellent writing and communication skills that allow you to advocate effectively with clients and on their behalf
- The ability and drive to take responsibility for routine and increasingly complex matters with minimal supervision.
- Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills, good judgment, strong verbal and written communication skills, and solid work ethic.
- Intellectual curiosity and high emotional intelligence, a willingness to think outside of the box, and a knack for finding practical solutions.
- Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
- Admission to the Texas bar or the ability to waive in is required.
