About the role:
The Knowledge Management Lawyer will be responsible for the thought leadership efforts of the US Antitrust & Competition Practice (the “Practice”), in coordination with the Practice Group Chairs, for monitoring current legal and regulatory developments and for informing attorneys and clients of these developments through emails, bulletins, and other tailored thought leadership pieces. They will also manage and coordinate the creation and delivery of other knowledge assets for the Practice, including frequently used client-facing materials and internal “best-of” resources. They will support attorneys to work as efficiently as possible and avoid situations where they are “re-inventing the wheel”.

A Global Law Firm has a well-established Knowledge Management team with defined career progression routes which recognize the experience our colleagues bring to their role. Whilst our expectation is that candidates will have five years or more practicing experience, we are open to candidates at all levels, including those with very significant experience in this field. This role will be located in either our New York, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C. office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring current legal, regulatory and market practice developments for the Practice
  • Preparing communications and tailored thought leadership materials for attorneys and clients regarding these developments (including client alerts, blog posts, newsletters, client presentations, and pitches), and identifying, collecting, and organizing work product for the Practice in the relevant knowledge management database
  • Drafting and maintaining frequently used client-facing materials (e.g., information exchange guidelines, document creation guidelines, antitrust training materials, etc.)
  • Drafting and maintaining internal “best-of” resources (e.g., antitrust efforts clauses, case trackers, etc.)
  • Providing substantive training to attorneys on competition law matters and with regard to the use of forms and precedent materials, as well as more general training on the knowledge management database and other KM resources
  • Generally acting as a sounding board for technical legal queries from attorneys in relation to competition law matters and supporting their preparation for client or industry engagements
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that A Global Law Firm retains

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Possess extensive substantive knowledge of antitrust and competition law (both from a substantive and procedural point of view)
  • Exhibit the ability to work independently and deliver on a timely basis
  • Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

And have:

  • A JD, or its equivalent
  • A minimum of five (5) years of post qualification experience as a practicing lawyer in a leading international law firm focused on antitrust and competition law
