Description:Baker McKenzie seeks an associate attorney with 1-2 years' experience in US trade law, with a focus on US export controls, sanctions and broader trade and national security-related areas. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on regulatory matters, including advisory work, compliance program reviews, cross-border transactional reviews and enforcement investigations. Candidates should be comfortable managing workstreams, supporting client relationships, and collaborating with cross-practice teams across multiple jurisdictions.
The position is in-person in the Firm's Palo Alto or San Francisco office. Candidates must be proactive, comfortable working independently, have strong academic credentials, excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability, a willingness to collaborate across teams and cultures and to enhance their skills using AI tools. Major law firm experience is strongly preferred. Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the California Bar or be eligible to waive in. Pay Transparency
- This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on number of hours worked.
- The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $225,000 to $235,000 (annually) if located in an office in the state of California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
