What you will do:
As our Jr. Legal Counsel in the USA, you will play a critical role in:
- Draft and negotiate the Terms of Use and Service Terms for B2C products;
- Draft and negotiate a variety of templates for B2B products worldwide, including vendor agreements, service contracts, partnerships, licensing, and SaaS agreements for educational tools and platforms;
- Provide comprehensive legal guidance on state-by-state education-specific regulations, including education financing regulations, as well as federal regulations (e.g., TILA, ADA accommodations, FTC and CFPB regulations, etc.);
- Advise on and monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the education sector and AI regulation; proactively update internal stakeholders;
- Develop internal playbooks, trackers, standard AI contract clauses, and training materials to ensure operational compliance;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, privacy, engineering, compliance) and external counsel to facilitate efficient product launches;
- Deliver legal analysis and strategic advice on complex commercial legal issues, helping the organization navigate evolving legal landscapes;
- LegalTech: drive innovation in legal operations through guidelines, templates, and AI- assisted solutions.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school or LL.M, actively admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction;
- 3-5 years of post-graduate experience, ideally combining law firm and in-house roles, preferably within education or related regulated sectors
- Must already have work authorization in the USA. We're unable to provide sponsorship opportunities at this point in time.
- Strong understanding of U.S. EdTech regulations (prior experience in EdTech is a bonus) and U.S. Consumer Protection Laws and Regulations;
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and International regulatory frameworks in AI;
- Exceptional skills in drafting and negotiating B2B contracts;
- Proven experience with B2B contracts and legal support for educational and AI products;
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and business advisory skills;
- Multinational experience or interest in cross-border product launches.
