Job Summary: Milberg seeks a highly motivated and hard-working Junior Attorney to join and support its Mass Arbitration team.

Mass Arbitration involves representing large groups of individual claimants in parallel, high-volume arbitration proceedings against corporate defendants. It combines elements of litigation, class actions, client management, and complex case operations.

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of litigation experience. This attorney needs to have successfully managed clients and the litigation process. This role blends litigation tasks with operational case management because mass arbitration requires coordinating high volumes of client files, proofs, and filings in addition to substantive legal advocacy. Training on proprietary systems and mass arbitration workflows will be provided. The candidate must be personable, proactive, organized, capable of working independently, and possess strong communication skills. Junior attorneys receive guidance from partners and senior associates to develop litigation judgment, strategic thinking, and mass arbitration expertise. Candidates with interest or experience in data privacy, consumer protection, or data-driven litigation will thrive in this role.

Work Location: This position is for remote work with the option to be in-person if located in New York.

Essential Functions:
  • Assisting partners with preparing and litigating mass arbitrations, including drafting, client communication, client campaign management, internal workflow, and general case support
  • Case evaluation and management, including vetting cases, analyzing, strategizing, drafting client communications and filings, managing the obtainment of necessary proof documents, managing case and client data in the appropriate case management systems, and client communication
  • Collaborating with paralegals, operations teams, data/tech staff, and other associates on coordinated workflows across large claimant inventories
  • Assisting with case development
  • Interacting with clients, vendors, and opposing counsel
  • Performing work in all aspects of arbitration, including drafting, discovery, motion practice, and hearings
  • Working closely with experts, including developing reports
  • Prepping clients for and participating in informal dispute resolution conferences
  • Preparing legal documents such as notices, demands, motions, briefs, mediation statements, and settlement documents

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
  • Familiarity with arbitration procedures and class action litigation, including initial pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and hearings.
  • A self-starter, able to be proactive, take initiative, and be responsible for seeing the job through.
  • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort using spreadsheets, document-management systems, and client-intake platforms (training provided) to track claimants, proofs, and filing workflows.
  • Possess the skill, knowledge, and ability to conduct research and apply laws.
  • Competent to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities to deliver timely results.
  • Capable of handling high-pressure situations, following partner-provided direction, and complying with internal and external deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Conveys confidence with and responsiveness to clients
  • Able to complete tasks efficiently and manage time across multiple projects

Salary:
$90,000 - $130,000 annually commensurate with experience within the posted range.
