Overview:
Personal injury law firm in Encino, California is seeking a Junior Associate to work in our office. Experience with personal injury, pre-litigation and litigation are preferred. Successful candidates will be responsible, goal-oriented and have excellent communication skills, as the firm is interested in an individual who is motivated, compassionate, and can work independently. Pay is commensurate with experience. Our firm offers considerable growth potential in a congenial and supportive environment, and we recognize that training is necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparing, drafting, and organizing of legal documents and pleadings
  • Drafting settlement demands
  • Support senior attorneys in negotiating and litigating cases
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed
  • Evaluating the merits of a case
  • Medical document review
  • Propounding and responding to discovery
  • Analyzing discovery responses
  • Appearing at hearings
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Analyzing deposition transcripts
  • Providing guidance and counsel to clients

Requirements:
  • California State Bar license
  • 1-4 years of experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures
  • Professional & courteous to clients and staff
  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload
  • A comprehensive understanding of personal injury law
  • Effective leadership skills and ability to supervise and provide direction to their support team
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Follow firm policies and procedures
  • Prior experience in legal administrative or support roles is preferred
