The Apex Law Group is a boutique business and nonprofit law firm in the heart of Seattle. For over a decade, we've helped entrepreneurs, mission-driven companies, and nonprofit organizations build and grow — from entity formation through the full business lifecycle — with a particular focus on nonprofits, social enterprises, and Social Purpose Corporations. We are looking for a Junior Associate Attorney to grow with that work.This is not a traditional associate position where you spend your first few years buried in document review with no client contact. At a firm our size, junior associates work directly with clients from day one — building relationships, sitting in on strategy conversations, and taking real ownership of matters — with a more experienced attorney close by for guidance on the complex calls.
This position will help grow our nonprofit, business, and intellectual property practice areas — including entity formation, governance and compliance, contracts, mergers & acquisitions, employer-side employment issues, general business counsel, and trademark and brand protection. Apex also has growing real estate, escrow, estate planning, and HOA practices, and there's room to lead or pick up matters in any of those areas if it's of interest.
What You Would Do
- Support and, over time, run nonprofit, business, and intellectual property matters.
- Communicate directly with clients on day-to-day matters, escalating complex issues to a senior associate.
- Take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal handholding.
- Meet an annual billable requirement of 1,200 hours.
What we are looking for:
- A J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in the Washington State Bar Association.
- A desire to be part of a growing legal practice.
- Experience with at least one of Apex's core practice areas is a plus.
